Why breastfeeding a toddler ?

Yes – during this interview I was pregnant with our little girl who is now a year old. Most of you now know that we have 3 children and that we are very fanatical when it comes to breastfeeding and proper nutrition.

We make breastfeeding ice creams (not very weird!), Cookies, and so on, sounds very ieuww to people who are not used to African parenting or natural parenting.

Truth is that quite a lot of perseverance is needed to give them all the best. It starts with healthy eating. You also need support from your partner, mentally and practically. Because otherwise it will be really difficult to keep going.

As for me, with all three children, my husband got up every night and put the babies to my chest and put the baby back in bed after they had enough milk.

Long feeding is long term breastfeeding

Breast feeding your baby / child for an extended period is not abnormal. Of course my eldest daughter does not return every 3 hours of playing outside to drink my milk, that is now only in situations of illness or distress. Everything has its natural course and children really go away from the chest, that is normal and natural. Everyone in the family grows in or out, it goes without saying.

And oh well imagine, you are in the middle of nowhere stranded with the car and your children are thirsty and hungry. How do you keep it, a child who does not even know what breastfeeding is (or lost) will not even know how to drink from your breast, even if you could magically give it all at once. If they are old enough, they can get involved and quench their thirst, but if it is still naturally soluble for your children, why not. Let, once again, nature take its course.

It is meant for you and benefit from it. Breastfeeding can be heavy, but taking things in a natural way is ultimately more difficult. Go sit nights with sick children without natural antibodies from Breastfeeding, It does not have to be that way when you have the opportunity.

Children experience love at the top and the bond also simply improves when they can share more than just toys.

Muchaheta was now living in the Netherlands, far away from home and her extended family. Perhaps it was the distance or the time away from her roots that led her down a path to reconciling her traditionally African approach to child rearing with the new modern European scientifically tested advice she was consistently receiving. In doing so she began to craft out a unique path for herself and her growing family.
